Temporal Prepositions with Accusative
| Preposition | Meaning | Example |

| um | The Time | „Ich gehe um 8 Uhr ins Bett.“ |
| bis | → x | „Ich warte bis nächste Woche.“ |
| von (Dative) ... bis | x → x | „Die Bar ist von 8 bis 18 Uhr geöffnet.“ |
| für | Time Period | „Wir werden für eine Woche in den Urlaub fliegen.“ |
| über | longer/more than | „Ich warte schon über eine Stunde auf dich!“ |
Temporal Prepositions with Dative

| bei | At the same time/during | „Beim Abendessen sehe ich die Nachrichten.“ |
| ab | Starting point (in the future) | „Ab nächster Woche will er mit dem Rauchen aufhören.“ |
| von... an | Starting point (in the future) | „Von nächster Woche an will er mit dem Rauchen aufhören.“ |
an / am| Day | Time of day „Am Montag fange ich an.“ |

Temporal Prepositions with Genitive
| Preposition | Meaning | Example |

| während | Simultaneously | „Während des Spiels kaufte er etwas zu trinken.“ |
| innerhalb | At some point in a specific time period | „Innerhalb einer Stunde müssen alle die Hausaufgaben bei mir abgegeben haben.“ |
| außerhalb | Outside of a specific time period | „Außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten geht bei uns niemand ans Telefon.“ |
